NEW YORK, NEW YORK – MARCH 30, 2014 – Jennifer Gilbert, Chief Visionary Officer of Save The Date® gives a tell-all to Success Magazine for their March, 2014 issue about surviving a vicious attack and her sheer force of will that allowed her to not only survive, but thrive. Jennifer Gilbert’s tell-all reveals her story of being reborn after being left for dead and the process of turning a painful story into a story of success.
Jennifer Gilbert shares her tell-all story of founding Save The Date® at 25 years old and breaking the mold of traditional event planning companies by making Save The Date® a company that not only planned events, but one that also matched clients with event spaces and vendors. Still, with all of this drive, Jennifer Gilbert was still hiding a dark secret: about 2 and a half years before starting Save The Date®, Jennifer had survived a random, brutal, near fatal attack that had left her scarred both physically and emotionally. Feeling she would never experience her own joy again, Jennifer Gilbert founded Save The Date® as a means to surround herself with the joy of others—creating and spreading joy became her life’s purpose. “We cannot control the things that may happen to us in life, but we can decide who we want to be afterward,” says Jennifer. Her team describes her as someone who is both hard and soft, business-minded and laser focused, but still sensitive to their needs and open to fostering their professional futures.
Jennifer Gilbert’s tell-all story is one of rebounding and rallying in the face of adversity. Since life really is a journey, she had to, over time, shed the layers that held her back and learn to not just share in other people’s joy, but to create her own. Through Save The Date® she has managed to create the best day’s of people’s lives. She has also created the best days of her life by founding her own company and making it a true success.
She opens up to Success Magazine during her interview about how she went about turning this tragedy into triumph by starting and turning Save The Date® into a multimillion dollar company that also fosters the growth and development of her 14 women staff of event specialists.
